Europa-Klassen mit der Partnersprache Englisch
General information: 10 Years SESB at Schiller Gymnasium
The State Europe School Berlin (SESB) began in the summer of 1999 and leads to the Abitur. Half of the pupils and teachers in this project are native English speakers, and half of the subjects (Biology, History, Geography, Music, English) are taught in English and the other half in German. Every year the SESB went up one grade and consists now of grades 7 to 13. Intakes since 2006/7 will take their Abitur in the 12th grade.

Entry Requirements
Pupils who wish to partake in the SESB programme and have not attended the SESB primary schools must meet certain prerequisites, which include taking an English test to evaluate whether they are able to be taught in a bilingual programme. This test consists of tasks in reading, listening, writing and communicating and will last about 45 minutes. Information about this is available in the secretary's office and through the school's administration. Application for the SESB classes is possible for Years 7 to 12.
Allgemeine Informationen: 10 Jahre SESB am Schiller Gymnasium
Im Sommer 1999 hat zusätzlich zu den Normalzügen der Aufbau der Staatlichen Europa-Schule Berlin begonnen, die ebenfalls bis zum Abitur geführt wird. In diesem Modellprojekt hat jeweils die Hälfte der Schüler und Lehrer die Muttersprache Englisch und der Unterricht wird in der Hälfte der Fächer (Biologie, Geschichte, Erdkunde, Musik, Englisch) auf Englisch, in der anderen Hälfte auf Deutsch geführt. In jedem Jahr wurde die Europa-Schule um eine Klassenstufe ausgebaut und umfasst jetzt die Klassenstufen 7 bis 13. Wer im Jahr 2006/07 in der 7. Klasse war und alle folgenden Jahrgänge machen im 12. Jahrgang Abitur.
Die Fortführung der SESB bis zum Abitur ist gesichert. Die ersten Abiturprüfungen für die SESB fanden im Sommer 2006 statt.
Aufnahme
Schüler, die in der Grundschule nicht an einer SESB-Schule waren, müssen einen Aufnahmetest im Hören, Lesen, Schreiben und Kommunizieren machen, der ca. 45 min dauert. Auskunft hierzu erhalten Sie im Schulsekretariat und bei der Schulleitung.
